Date: 5/15/2025 Time: 07:33 AM Jurisdiction – Hopewell Borough
Type of Incident: Fraud
Investigating Officer: Maria Gavdanovich
Details: On 5/15/2025 Officer Gavdanovich responded to an East Broad Street address for a reported Theft and Fraud. The victim reported that their accountant mailed a check to one of their vendors for their business. The check never made it to the vendor and was later found to have been stolen. The check was also found to be altered. Originally the check was written for $430.09, but was cashed for $5,000. The bank was notified and is investigating the incident.

Type of Incident: Burglary

Details: On May 6, 2025 Officer Stanton responded to a Forge Circle address for a reported vehicle burglary. The victim stated that their Ford F150 was entered overnight. The center console and glove box was found ajar, but it did not appear like anything was missing. The vehicle had no signs of forced entry or damage.
Additionally, another vehicle was reported to be entered in the same time frame on Forge Circle. The owner of a white Dodge Hornet reported that their vehicle was entered and their backpack was stolen. Inside the backpack was an Apple ipad, Ray Ban sunglasses, and personal items. The total amount listed for stolen items was reported as $743.00.

Type of Incident: Theft
Investigating Officer: Brandon Kuzma
Details: On May 7, 2025 Officer Kuzma responded to Capital Health -Hopewell Campus for a reported Theft. An employee reported that their Louis Vuitton was stolen from inside their office. Inside the wallet was cash, credit cards, and a number of identification cards and credentials. The victim reported leaving her office for a short period of time and the office was left unlocked. Security footage did show an individual entering and exiting the office shortly thereafter. The matter is under investigation. The total amount lost in this incident was reported as $3,083.87.

Type of Incident: Warrant Arrest
Accused Name: Vito Silvero
Accused Address: Reed Rd Pennington, NJ 08534
Investigating / Arresting Officer: Arthur Juba
Charges: Contempt of Court
Details: On May 7, 2025 Officer Juba met with an individual at HTPD headquarters for an unrelated matter. The individual was identified as Vito Silvero. Silvero was found to have an active NCIC Warrant for his arrest out of Mercer County for receiving a stolen vehicle, as well as an additional warrant out of East Brunswick. Silvero was arrested and escorted for processing. Ultimately, Silvero was transported and turned over to Mercer County Correctional Facility in default. The matter will be heard in Superior Court.

Accused Name: Michael Baldwin
Accused Address: Broad Street Trenton, NJ 08608
Investigating Officer: Maria Gavdanovich
Details: On May 11, 2025 Officer Gavdanovich responded to Aaron Truehart Way for a report of a disturbance. Units were advised that one of the involved parties left the scene in a gold Chevy Impala. A motor vehicle was subsequently conducted on the vehicle and the driver was identified as Michael Baldwin of Trenton. Baldwin was found to have an active traffic warrant for his arrest. Baldwin was arrested on scene and transported to HTPD for processing. He was later transferred to Lawrence Township Police for the warrant. The matter will be heard in Municipal Court.

Type of Incident: Shoplifting
Investigating Officer: James Stanton
Details: On May 11, 2025 Officer Stanton responded to Valley Wine and Spirits on Denow Road for a reported shoplifting incident. Store employees reported that an individual entered the store and stole several bottles of Tequila and left without payment. After reviewing the surveillance video, Officer Stanton observed a male party enter the store an put 7 bottles of liquor into a bag and leave the store. The incident is under investigation.

Type of Incident: Burglary / Theft

Details: On May 15, 2025 Officer Gavdanovich responded to a Hopewell Princeton Road address for a reported Burglary and Theft from a Conex Box. Upon arrival, Gavdanovich met with construction staff at the site who reported that tools and equipment were stolen from a Conex Box on the job site. The box appeared to have been entered utilizing a key, as there were no signs of forced entry. In total $4, 220.94 in equipment was stolen. The incident took place between May 9th and May 13th. The incident is under investigation.

Accused Name: Brandon Dekleine
Accused Address: Terrace Blvd Trenton, NJ 08618
Investigating / Arresting Officer: James Stanton
Charges: Contempt of Court
Details: On May 15, 2025 Officer Stanton conducted a traffic stop on a Grey Dodge Charger on Pennington Road. The driver, later identified as Brandon Dekleine, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. Dekleine was placed under arrest on scene and transported to HTPD for processing. Dekleine was later released on his own recognizance with a new court date. Nothing further at this time.

Date: 5/16/2025 Time: 12:20 AM Jurisdiction – Hopewell Township
Type of Incident: DUI
Accused Name: Hector Castano
Accused Address: North Hillside Ave Kenvil, NJ 07847
Investigating / Arresting Officer: Michael Enriquez
Charges: DUI
Details: On May 16, 2025 Officer Enriquez conducted a motor vehicle assist after observing a BMW X3 parked with its hazard lights on the shoulder of Pennington Road. When Officer Enriquez approached the vehicles, he found the driver asleep at the wheel. After awaking the driver, identified as Hector Castano, he was asked to exit the vehicle under suspicion of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were conducted roadside and Castano was ultimately arrested for DUI. Castano was transported to HTPD for processing and later released after service of summonses. Castano was issued a number of motor vehicle summonses including DUI and Reckless Driving.

Type of Incident: Shoplifting
Investigating Officer: Collin Brigham
Details: On May 17, 2025 Officer Brigham responded to the Stop & Shop for a reported shoplifting. Loss prevention reported that a male and female suspect were seen on surveillance shoplifting from the store. Both parties were seen entering the store together and removing items without payment. Surveillance video was provided to Officer Brigham for follow up investigation. The total loss is still being tallied.
