Suspicious Item - Hopewell Valley Central High School

On Friday April 17th, 2026 at 12:32PM, Hopewell Township Police responded to Hopewell Valley Central High School for a report of a suspicious item found inside the school by staff. The details of the investigation, which are not being released at this time, lead to the decision to conduct a thorough and systematic search of the building. As such, the school was held in lockdown status for the duration of the search.

Due to the size and scope of the search, additional law enforcement resources and personnel responded to assist. The search was concluded at approximately 4:00PM. Soon thereafter, students and staff were released from the school. A Law enforcement presence remained throughout dismissal.

We would like to thank Hopewell Valley Regional School District and Hopewell Valley Central High School for their partnership and cooperation in this incident. Additionally, our Law Enforcement partners for their swift response for assistance.
