Date: 9/16/2024 Time: 3:09 PM Jurisdiction- Hopewell Borough
Type of Incident: Criminal Mischief
Investigating Officer: Collin Brigham
Details: On September 16, 2024 Officer Brigham met with the victim of Criminal Mischief at an address on East Broad Street in Hopewell Borough. The complainant, a foreman for a construction company, explained that the company had a temporary fence placed on the property and they found that it was damaged. Specifically, the words “Dump Trump” were spray painted on the fence. The damage was estimated at approximately $100 in value and the incident was said to have occurred between 9/14 and 9/16. No further information at this time.

Type of Incident: Burglary
Investigating Officer: Michael Enriquez
Details: On September 9, 2024 Officer Enriquez and Detective Collins responded to a Forest Blend Drive address for a reported burglary. The victim reported coming home at 1040 hours, and finding the front door wide open. As the victim entered the home, they found that the home had been burglarized. The incident was reported to have occurred between 9/6 and 9/9 as the residents were away. Various pieces of jewelry was stolen
during the incident. The total estimated value was reported as $65,000. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Type of Incident: DUI
Accused Name: Kevin Wilkes
Accused Address: Reservoir Road Hopewell, NJ 08525
Investigating / Arresting Officer: Arthur Juba
Charges: DUI / Possession of CDS / Reckless Driving
Details: On September 9, 2024 at approximately 11:05 PM Officers responded to Hopewell Princeton Road for a reported overturned vehicle that had crashed at that location. Officer Juba arrived, along with other officers, to provide emergency aid and investigate the crash. During the investigation of the crash, the driver was identified as Kevin Wilkes. Wilkes exhibited signs of intoxication on scene and was subsequently arrested for DUI. Wilkes was transported to HTPD for processing and was later released from custody. Wilkes was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to submit to chemical testing, and Failure to maintain lane. The matter will be heard in Municipal Court.

Type of Incident: Theft / Lost Property
Investigating Officer: Ryan Finnegan
Details: On September 11, 2024 Officer Finnegan met with the victim of theft in the HTPD lobby. The victim reported that they placed an order online through Under Armor. The package was due to be delivered on August 23, 2024. The victim received a message stating that the package was delivered, however nothing was received. The total amount purchased was reported as $638.97. It is unknown at this time if the item was lost in transit or if the items were stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

Type of Incident: Burglary / Theft

Details: On September 14, 2024 Officer Pauciullo responded to a Federal City Road address for a reported burglary involving a lawn mower from an enclosed trailer. The victim stated that their lawn mower was stolen from the trailer on the same date between 12:16AM and 12:35AM, and they had surveillance video of the incident. The video showed two male subjects enter the trailer and remove the lawn mower before leaving with it on foot. The exact dollar amount of the lawn mower is being provided, but not noted at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Type of Incident: Warrant Arrest
Investigating / Arresting Officer: George Peterson
Accused Name: Kevin Brown
Details: On September 14, 2024 Officer Peterson responded to Capital Health – Hopewell Campus for a reported disturbance involving a visitor at the hospital. Upon making contact with the accused party, he was identified as Kevin Brown. Mr Brown was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Berlin Borough Municipal Court and Stratford Borough Municipal Court. Brown was arrested on scene and transported to HTPD for processing. Brown was processed and later transferred to Berlin Township Police in default of bail. The matter will be heard in Municipal Court.

Details: On September 16, 2024 Officer Finnegan responded to a Washington Crossing Road address for a reported theft of copper from a home under construction. Upon arrival, Officer Finnegan made contact with the construction manager who advised that two hundred feet of copper piping was stolen from the residence between 9/13 and 9/16. The total value was reported as $1,000.00. The incident is under investigation.

Accused Name: William Winterbottom
Accused Address: Hopewell Wertsville Road Hopewell, NJ 08525
Details: On September 19, 2024 at approximately 10:38 PM Officer Stanton responded to a Hopewell Wertsville Address for a reported motor vehicle crash off road. The driver of an off-road vehicle (Polaris), identified as William Winterbottom, crashed the vehicle and subsequently emergency services and police responded. While on scene, Winterbottom exhibited signs of intoxication. He was subsequently charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. The matter will be heard in Municipal Court.
