Traffic Division
The police department traffic unit is made up of patrol officers who pro-actively enforce motor vehicle laws to ensure the safety of citizens traveling in and around our community.
This Traffic Division is responsible for a wide variety of tasks, ranging from processing motor vehicle crash paperwork to conducting traffic studies for analytical review. The division oversees the School Crossing Guards, as well as answering citizen questions concerning traffic laws, addressing any traffic concerns of the residents, and initiating selective enforcement details, such as DWI patrols, throughout the township.
Below is a list of responsibilities of the Traffic Division:
- Assist in serious injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes
- Funeral escorts
- Radar and DWI Enforcement details
- Radar instruction and re-certification
- Traffic Enforcement
- Crossing guards
- Speed sign deployment and maintenance
