On July 29th, 2023 at approximately 9:30 pm, Officer’s responded to a residence on East Broad Street in Hopewell Borough for a trespassing complaint. The calling party reported an intoxicated Hispanic male entered the home and left when confronted. Shortly thereafter, Officers were dispatched to a Columbia Avenue residence for a similar incident. The complainant reported an intoxicated Hispanic male approached the caller, while on the porch of the residence. The Hispanic male made inappropriate contact with the victim and then fled the area.
Through the investigation, the Hispanic male was later identified as Selvin R. Mateo. Mr. Mateo was arrested and processed at headquarters. Mr. Mateo was charged with Criminal Sexual Contact and Trespassing. Mr. Mateo was detained at the Mercer County Correctional Center. The case will be heard in Superior Court.
