On Sunday November 18th, 2023 a motor vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of East Broad Street and South Elm Street in Hopewell Borough. The crash involved one motor vehicle and one pedestrian in the crosswalk. The vehicle was traveling Eastbound on East Broad Street when the crash occurred. The pedestrian was believed to be crossing East Broad Street at the time of the crash. The pedestrian suffered serious, but non-fatal injuries from the crash.
The crash was investigated by P/O Robert Voorhees and Det Christopher Collins of the Hopewell Township Police Department, as well as Det Ryan Minnick of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team. Through their collective investigation of the crash on scene and in the following weeks, the driver of the vehicle (identified as Nicholas Loglisci of Lambertville, NJ) was found to have operated the vehicle under the influence.
On December 21, 2023 Nicholas Loglisci was charged with the following offenses:
2C:12-1C(2) - Assault by Auto
39:4-50 - DUI
39:4-96 - Reckless
39:4-97 - Careless
39:4-36 - Failure to Yield to Pedestrian
The matter is scheduled to be heard in Superior Court.
